ACTAcademy UK Creative Summer School 2021 - 'Pirates, Planks & Pranks!'

Our legendary ACTAcademy UK Creative Summer School is back!

Children and young people have missed out on so much important developmental time in their young lives, during this unprecedented time, and we want to give them a chance to brush up on the important life skills they have been missing during this past year. Our ACTAcademy Summer School weeks will focus on developing wellbeing, self-confidence, creativity, communication and social skills, teamwork and leadership ability in a safe, supportive environment.

Children can look forward to a week that is a wonderfully fun, creative, educational experience where no day is the same and the learning is magical! Our passionate teachers will lead your children on an adventure of discovery, development and joy over the course of the week with the expressive, performing and creative arts at the core of our training. However, that does not mean that your little one has to be a performer to join in with our summer schools - great if they are, but not a requirement at all! Our Summer School is a great way to boost a child’s sense of belief in themselves, and develop a positive image of their interests and abilities, we want our Summer School pupils to gain a lovely sense of who they are as a person and feel super confident in feeling that sense of purpose, productivity and belonging that has been missing in their lives during the back and forth lockdowns this past year.

Our Summer Schools are suitable for any child with an interest in trying new things and getting creative; there is no performance pressure at all - this is about giving children a chance to express themselves and build confidence doing lots of creative and exciting activities, making like-minded friends!

If you wish to pay with Childcare Voucher Schemes, or the government’s Tax-Free Childcare scheme, please email info@actacademy.co.uk or call the stage school office on 01423 202646 to arrange this.

Every week-long Summer School will be different, offering a level of challenge and nurturing talent, exploring your child’s interests and giving them plenty of opportunity to try new things and do plenty of what they love. No day is the same at ACTAcademy, so rest assured if you book on for multiple weeks your child will not do the same thing twice. To give you a little taster of the kind of things to expect, we have sports, circus arts, team-games, craft, painting, gymnastics, street-dance, den-building, drawing, baking, yoga, drama, dance - the list goes on!

This year, every week of Creative Summer Camp we have an exclusive dedicated theme for the week. This week, the 26th of July, the theme is PIRATES, PRANKS & PLANKS. All activities throughout the week are cleverly designed to boost confidence, develop creativity and imagination, with special visits from famous storybook and movie characters to lead summer camp students on fun-filled drama adventures!

Pressure to perform is not a part of our Creative Summer Schools - our emphasis is very much on giving your child the opportunity to build confidence, develop imagination, encourage creativity, learn new skills and explore a range of expressive arts and culture.

Our Creative Summer Schools are aimed specifically for children currently in Primary school - from age 5 to Year 6. Children will be split into separate age brackets, ensuring that all activities are age appropriate - and offer the right level of challenge and fun!

Your child’s safety is of paramount importance to us. We are an Ofsted Registered educational establishment, with our own exclusive-use premises - and as such, are governed by strict statutory requirements for health and safety of our building and the content of our Summer Schools. We will be following all PHE advice, the LA guidance and the DfE information for educational settings. This means that class sizes will be kept very small this year, we will stagger drop offs and pick ups, to allow for social distancing. We will take all necessary precautions to promote excellent hygiene and best practice within classes and activities.

For your complete peace of mind, we also have a trained paediatric first aider on site at all times, our programmes are all qualified teacher-led, we have an onsite housekeeper to clean the premises and ‘hotspots’ regularly throughout each day - plus all teachers and staff at the stage school are fully DBS checked.
